About my village that I was born and lived there until I was 13 years old
In the village men marry in young age and average family have 7-8 children. Some
families have 10-12 children from just one mother. The men who have 2 wives have
more children.
The village have very big land but it is all mountain and not usable for farming, so
most of the people in the village are poor. People have sheep and they make living
with small farming.
My village and all other villages in the area are very traditional. The women get up
before everybody while it is still dark and they go to bad after everybody else go to
bed. It is a big shame if a women goes to bed before a man in the family still have not
gone to bed.
Women and children in the village have very hard time, children start tor work in the
farm and take care of the animals when they are 6-7 years old.

The women work all day long non stop. They take care of animals, milking animals,
making cheese and butter, baking bread in old style in earth oven, washing cloths and
taking care of the children. There are no any healthy women in those villages,
especially after some age, al of the women are sick. I still go to my village several
times a year. There is no any market or a pharmacy in the Village and no public
transportation to the town. From spring to fall there is one van goes to the town once
a day.
Each time I go there, women asking me for pain relief medicine. So when I go there, I
get some pain relief medicine with me for the women and I collect used cloths in
Istanbul especially for children and take it to them when I go there. When I lived in
the village there was no electricity in the village and we did not have TV, now they
have electricity and TV and children learn Turkish from TV but many women still
don't speak Turkish.
