I was born and raised in in a village in eastern Turkey in Erzurum province.
In my village and the other villages in the area many families have old hand woven rugs that they don't use anymore because especially
young ladies like new modern machine carpets better.
People in the village sleep in beds on the floor and in the morning they fold their beds and put them on each other by the wall. They keep
hand woven rugs folded under the beds and often they get spoiled by moths or humidity.

In 2003, I collected those old rugs from the villages and started to sell them from home in Istanbul. I did not make much money from selling
those rugs but with selling them I helped people in the villages and prevented those nice rugs to get spoiled. I also bought some rugs from
Iran when travelled there. I bought and sold rugs for several years and I stopped doing it in 2008 when I moved to Diyarbakir in n
southeastern Turkey. After two years I moved back to Istanbul but I did not buy rugs anymore.
Lately I have more time and I visit my village and other villages in the area more often. Each time I go to my village and other villages in the
area, people ask me to buy their rugs, same thing happens when I visit people I know in Iran.
Since now I have more time and I like rugs, I made decision to buy and sell rugs again. Each of those rugs I have, I know from where it is
and mostly I know which family have woven it.

Below you can see some of the rugs I have at the moment. If you are interested in hand woven rugs, please don't hesitate to contact me.
